Laurie Johnson
I attended the Denver School of Massage Therapy Aurora Campus and graduated in 2011. I have also completed continuing education at the Upledger Institute, Colorado School of Healing Arts, and Z-Health. Excited to get out and do what I learned and loved to do, I started working as soon as I could! I have been practicing and using several different therapeutic techniques including Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Post-surgical Recovery Therapy, Cupping, CranioSacral, Acupressure, Gua Sha and Neuro-based Therapy to assist my clients on their journey of optimal health and wellness.
Also included in some of my treatments to improve and facilitate lymphatic drainage, scar tissue modification, soft tissue recovery and pain relief, I use a Deep Oscillation device. Deep Oscillation therapy supports, improves and intensifies the effects and endurance of other manual techniques. Read more about Deep Oscillation therapy Principles here and what it can potentially do for you in a treatment session. If you have more questions about this type of treatment, feel free to contact me.
I use all of these techniques to create a tailored treatment for my clients to help reduce their pain and inflammation, recover more quickly from surgeries and rehabilitate from injuries. I also may on occasion provide my clients with quick and easy motor control exercises to perform at home to help with pain management and overall improved neurological performance. These exercises drills have a neuro-biomechanical focus and improve the quality of signals received by the brain, processed, and sent out. For more information on this technique, check out my blog post.
My love of all things massage and bodywork and desire for helping people gain a more balanced, healthy and pain-free life shows in and out of my work environment. I enjoy working with my clients and I am constantly expanding my knowledge of manual techniques so that I may be able to best meet their needs. I look forward to working with my clients to help them on their wellness journey.
